Has this been published? And it is totally fine if the answer is no. If yes, what publisher and what publication date? Yes, The Bitterwood Bible and Other Recountings was published in 2014 by Tartarus Press in the UK.
The first draft is generally fine as that’s about the act of creation and it always feels like stirring ingredients into a cauldron. I move between the computer and a notebook, and when I’m trying to work things out I’ll often map a plot out on a big sketchpad or a whiteboard.
Can you give the reader just enough information for them to understand what is going on in the excerpt?
Other works you have published? I’ve published three novels, two novellas, nine short story collections and over 200 short stories and articles on the craft of writing.
Angela Slatter is the author of the Verity Fassbinder supernatural crime series (Vigil, Corpselight and Restoration) as well as nine short story collections, including The Bitterwood Bible and Other Recountings and A Feast of Sorrows: Stories.
